HOSTEL: Jeffrey and I stay at a hostel on Bohio called BEDS ON BOHIO. It’s $12/night for a dorm. Lockers are provided, hot water, kitchen, and wifi. it’s located in the back of the restaurant called PAPAS AND BURGERS. Fast wifi, 2 blocks from the beach, and the owners, Claudio and Chris are so nice. Tell them we said hi..we have been to Jaco 3 times..The best part is Roxie..the dog that lives at Papas’ and Beds’. She follows Jeff and me around town the entire time. If that’s full, try next door HOTEL DE HAAN.

SURF- INFO BOARDS and LESSONS: If you want surf lessons, talk with Chapu or Alan. They live right next door to Papas and Burgers at  Hotel De Haan. The best surf lessons and prices in town. They also rent boards at De Haan and down the road closer to the surf area of the beach. For beginner surfers, head to the beach and take a left. Toward the end is a hotel called hotel 9. That’ where Alan and Chapu give lessons and the waves are easy to catch. For larger ones, head to the right of Bohio street. For massive waves, go to Hermosa. You can get a $5 cab there, but good luck hailing one to get back. You may catch some locals on the beach that could bring you back to Jaco.

FOOD: For delicious food visit a place called GRAFITI, to the right of kfc in the strip. Our good friend Kyler works there. Kevin and Chad work at the pizza place across from Bohio near the smoothie shop. For the best casado in town, walk down the street that Le Loft is facing tight off of the main road. It’s about a 6 minute walk down that street and right across the end of the street is really inexpensive delicious food. It’s safe at night..And Roxie may be with you.On that same road walking back to town, on your left will be a liquor store. They have Vodka Rojo..It’s an 8oz nicaraguan vodka for 500 colones..that’s $1!!

NIGHT LIFE: Go to Backyard in Hermosa on Wednesdays and see Kip dj.Or see Adam and Krystal’s night club in Jaco. It’s difficult to miss. It’s the 3 story salmon colored building called LE LOFT. Weekends are great there, but they also have themed nights during the week. Dress to impress. 🙂 A more casual bar that plays the latest music is right over the bridge (if you take a left onto the main road from Bohio) and it’s called MONKEY BAR. For live music, go to TABACON. Beatle Bar is where the prostitutes get their clients.

The pineapples are delicious.

The sunsets are a MUST. A run along the beach in the rain is heavenly.

To see monkeys, take a right on the beach from Bohio and cross the low river. Follow the sand to the right and in the woods past the small hut are monkeys daily at noon.

Enjoy Jaco!
